    Requirements for Certification


    • Complete the 3-day workshop OR the online self-paced program 
    • Assignments directly related to the training Meet with 3 other birth doulas AND 3 other perinatal professionals
    • Complete the required reading 
    • Attend a childbirth education class (recommendations will be made, but this is your choice) 
    • Complete Lactation Management for Doulas from LER
    • Outline your business plan/strategy 
    • Create a resource list of local birth professionals for prospective clients 
    • Complete 3 certifying births 
    • Complete and submit your portfolio within 2 years of training


    More details will be given when you receive your certification packet after registration. You will have our support through this process for any questions you come up with along the way. This list of requirements is not meant to be intimidating. These requirements are to ensure you’re entering into doula work as prepared as you can be.
