Pathway 2: Mentorship Pathway
What does it look like?
- You will need to book 3 clients.
- Have at least one prenatal meeting per client.
- Attend each birth.
- Have at least one postpartum meeting per client.
- Fill out a self-evaluation for each birth.
- For the first two clients, you will be able to message your mentor with questions, and you will attend mentorship meetings to get guidance and feedback at every step of the above process. You will meet with your mentor after you complete your service with each client to debrief about the birth, ask questions and get feedback.
- For the third client, you will still be able to message your mentor with questions, but you will not be required to attend the routine mentorship meetings. You will meet with your mentor after you complete your service with the client to debrief about the birth, ask questions and get feedback.
- This pathway comes with an accolade in conjunction with your certification that will indicate you have been through the mentorship process.

Mentorship Program: Participant agrees to enroll in the Birth, Baby! Academy Mentorship program ("Mentorship Program") for the purpose of receiving guidance about topics related to being a birth doula.
Liability Release: Participant understands and acknowledges that the Mentorship Program is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical or legal advice. Participant agrees that Empowered Beginnings, LLC, its instructors, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any actions taken by Participant based on information provided during the Mentorship Program.
Photo and Video Release: Participant grants Empowered Beginnings, LLC permission to use any photographs, videos, or other media featuring Participant taken during the Mentorship Program for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes, both online and offline.
Confidentiality: Participant agrees to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary information or materials shared during the Mentorship Program and not to disclose such information to third parties without prior written consent from the Empowered Beginnings, LLC. This Mentorship Program is intended for personal use only by the individual who purchased it. Participant may not copy, share, distribute, or make any portion of this course available to others. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of this content is strictly prohibited.

Birth Doula Training
Requirements for Certification
- Complete the 3-day workshop OR the online self-paced program
- Assignments directly related to the training Meet with 3 other birth doulas AND 3 other perinatal professionals
- Complete the required reading
- Attend a childbirth education class (recommendations will be made, but this is your choice)
- Complete Lactation Management for Doulas from LER
- Outline your business plan/strategy
- Create a resource list of local birth professionals for prospective clients
- Complete 3 certifying births using either Pathway 1 or Pathway 2
- Complete and submit your portfolio within 2 years of training
More details will be given when you receive your certification packet after registration. You will have our support through this process for any questions you come up with along the way. This list of requirements is not meant to be intimidating. These requirements are to ensure you’re entering into doula work as prepared as you can be.
